Chelsea star frustrated with role under Maurizio Sarri and ready to leave the club

Olivier Giroud is unhappy with his lack of game time at Chelsea this season and is willing to take a step down in order to play more important role. The Frenchman has not started a Premier League match since the turn of the year as head coach Maurizio Sarri prefers Gonzalo Higuain. With his contract expiring in the summer, the 32-year-old admits he may need to leave Stamford Bridge having become increasingly annoyed with his current situation. "Of course it’s frustrating," Giroud told RTL this week. "Today, I have the impression that there is clearly no competition [with Higuain] since January. "It’s like that, I know I’m only going to play in the Europa League and I try to do what it takes to be as effective and important as possible for the team."
