Olivier Giroud is unhappy with his lack of game time at Chelsea this season and is willing to take a step down in order to play more important role.
The Frenchman has not started a Premier League match since the turn of the year as head coach Maurizio Sarri prefers Gonzalo Higuain.
With his contract expiring in the summer, the 32-year-old admits he may need to leave Stamford Bridge having become increasingly annoyed with his current situation. "Of course it’s frustrating," Giroud told RTL this week. "Today, I have the impression that there is clearly no competition [with Higuain] since January.
"It’s like that, I know I’m only going to play in the Europa League and I try to do what it takes to be as effective and important as possible for the team."
