Chelsea star Mason Mount reveals the toughest moment, speaks on playing with Jorginho, Kovacic and Lampard influence

Chelsea and Ajax head in Tuesday’s Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge having both earned six points from their opening three matches in Group H. However, because of their narrow 1-0 success in Amsterdam, last month, the Premier League outfit holds the smallest of advantages over their Dutch rivals. Ahead of the game, Chelsea star Mason Mount has faced the press. On his Chelsea start, Mount said: “It has been brilliant, loving every moment. A positive to have a few goals, I didn’t think I would have four so far. We need to carry on.” On getting through to the knockouts, Mount added: “We know how important it is to get results. We took positives from the game in Holland.” Mount revealed what it’s like to play alongside Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic. “They have been brilliant. Us young players coming into the team, they have to keep us going. The way they have been. They keep us so strong,” he said. Champions League vs Premier League and Lampard influence, Mount said: “I think I was always ready. You have to be ready. I was so focused on taking my opportunity. There is a different feels to it, the focus on winning the game is so important. You have fewer opportunities. There are so many top teams in the group. Lampard has been a massive influence for me. Knowing how he likes to work and play, I am learning off him every day.” On their Champions League opponents Ajax, Mount said: “If I look at big performances, that is probably number one. We knew we had to go there and be professional. It put us in a good position. They are going to be right up there and keep working hard, hopefully replicating that.” Mount also revealed his toughest moment so far. “Probably Old Trafford. Even though we lost 4-0 we took a lot of positives from the game. We knew that if we carried on being together then we could get good performances. Valencia, my injury, that was a tough time. It hasn’t just been plain sailing, it is going well at the moment but we don’t take our eye off the ball,” Mount said. Source- Football.london
