Antonio Rudiger has warned his Chelsea teammates that they must continue to keep their own job properly if they want to win the Premier League title.
Chelsea dropoped two points on Sunday after a 0-0 draw with Everton at Stambord Bridge, while Manchester City and Liverpool picked up wins against Manchester United and Fulham.
The results mean that Chelsea slipped back into third place, four points behind Pep Guardiola's side and two behind the Reds after 12 matches of the season.
Rudiger has warned they must be focused on their own game and not that of their rivals.
"I don’t feel happy because I wanted to win this game," Rudiger admitted. "There was a game on last night [City v United] that’s maybe important to us. But we failed to do our own job.
"If we don’t win these kind of games, we don’t need to look at City and Liverpool. Do we need to improve on getting three draws at home out of four? That’s clear.
"We had a lot of chances we missed. But we were unlucky. We didn’t see much from Everton up front. It was more a game to be decided by one goal. They had some counter-attacks, but I never thought they would score.
"Last season, we dropped a lot of points and we were thinking ‘Oh! if we [had done this], if we [had done that]’ but this doesn’t count. The thing is we failed against Everton," Rudiger told to the
Evening Standard.
