Chelsea are set to face a massive blow as Enzo Fernandez's move to Stamford Bridge is pretty much 'closed' now.
As Fabrizio Romano has reported recently, the Premier League giants were leading the race to sign the Argentine as they made an official €85m proposal to Benfica which got rejected as the club ask for a €120m release clause.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese side offered their star a new contract extension as per reports, the World Cup winner will sign a contract until June 2028.
Speaking to Football London, Benfica's manager Roger Schmidt has claimed that the club will 'restart from zero' with the 21-year-old as 'he's happy' in Portugal.
“Now we restart from zero with Enzo. He will be back today (Saturday), we count on him – he’s our player, we need Enzo.”
"He’s one of our players. He’s happy, training well, he’s part of the team. Everything has been said.” admitted the manager.
