Chelsea will reportedly not start contract talks with Tammy Abraham until the end of the current season.
The England international was left out of Gareth Southgate's most recent squad due to a lack of first-team minutes at Chelsea which have, in-part, been due to an ankle injury but also head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Abraham has found himself behind Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner and even Kai Havertz in the central striker role and there is growing uncertainty over his long-term future at the club.
And according to
ESPN, the Blues will not start the new contract negotiations with the 23-year-old until the end of the season, as they are competing in the FA Cup and Champions League and for a top-four spot in the Premier League, before discussing a new deal.
Abraham's contract at the Stamford Bridge expires in 2023 and his representatives are keen to extend that further.
