Joe Cole has recently stated that Cody Gapko could potentially reach Dennis Bergkamp's level amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
The forward has scored three goals at the World Cup so far. His team effortlessly scored 2-0 against Qatar without the need to get out of second gear. Gapko scored first with a neat right-footed finish, with Frenkie de Jong scoring the rest.
Gapko has caught the eye of Leeds, Manchester United and Southampton in the summer and is connected to many other teams after 30 goals and assists for PSV this term.
The Mirror claim that the Gunners are interested in signing the player. Meanwhile, CM claims that the Reds have already created a £70 million contract for him. Cole says he is very talented and can get on the same caliber as Arsenal icon Bergkamp.
“Really exciting talent, one I earmarked at the start of the tournament that might do well. Can dribble, good movement off the ball. All the big clubs in the Premier League will be looking at this kid,” Cole said before the Netherlands kicked off.
“He joins an illustrious group. If he gets three goals in three World Cup games, the likes of Sneijder, Bergkamp – he is not moving in those kinds of circles yet, he will be on his way. A really exciting young player.”
Gapko's form gives him the possibility to sign for any club in the world. The top-notch groups would love to have a player like him on their teams.
Gapko knows when he needs to change his team that will fit his playing style and provides him with the growth he needs. He nearly joined Leeds in the summer, but that fell through. Arsenal is sure he will start above Gabriel Martinelli, but he may struggle at Anfield.
