Philippe Coutinho scored a double in Brazil's opening Copa America game against Bolivia which ended with a 3-0 score.
The Brazilian midfielder has been at the center of attention since making his move from Liverpool to Barcelona as he is being linked with a move away after just one season in Spain.
And with the speculations going around the Barcelona midfielder, Coutinho again found himself at the centre of jeers from unhappy supporters in the first half of Brazil's Copa America opener against Bolivia.
After the game, when Brazil won 3-0 and he scored a double, Coutinho spoke about the atmosphere that surrounded him during the game.
"Being jeered by the crowd is part of football," he said. "The Brazil fans ask a lot of us because they want us to play well.
"The important thing is to be strong so that we can play better, which is what we did after scoring the first goal."
"I do not have much to say to them; I am grateful for all the support that I have always received," he continued when asked about Barcelona fans.
"I had a tough time on the field because I have not performed as expected, but football is like that and I'm working hard to improve."
