Juventus defeated 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
The Portuguese received a frosty reception at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium due to his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu, with Atletico’s home support booing and jeering him throughout.
As a respond to the chants the former Real Madrid player held up five fingers to the crowd, signifying the five Champions League titles he has won so far.
Ronaldo’s long-range free-kick was the closest the striker got to scoring but his powerful strike was comfortably saved by Jan Oblak.
After the final whistle Ronaldo stormed through the mixed zone and repeated his hand gesture.

"I’ve got five Champions League trophies and Atleti have won zero," he said to journalists.
"We had put in a great performance against Borussia Dortmund," Simeone said. "We got important players back like Koke and Costa, we were able to play an intelligent game against a huge team with very strong players.
"We had to make the most of every situation we could get. It’s a very good result. We know that we are facing a great team, a great club and great champions in Turin. We fully expect to suffer in the second leg."
