Daniil Medvedev has given interview after beating Nick Kyrgios with a score of 7-6(1) 6-4 4-6 6-2 in Australian Open.
Throughout the entire game the Rod Laver Arena continued booing and crying out Cristiano Ronaldo's trademark "Suii" celebration.
However, Medvedev remained calm and composed during the match, as the crowd heavily supported their home favourite.
Speaking in his post-match interview, the world No. 2 took his opportunity to call out the crowd after the victory.
"I came to win this match and I am happy that I managed to do it," the Russian said.
"That's the only choice when you are booed between first and second serves."
While being interviewed, the US Open champion was unable to hear Jim Courier due to crowd's boos further, so he asked them to respect the retired former world No 1.
"Let him speak please guys, if you respect somebody, at least respect Jim Courier. He's a former champion here," Medvedev said.
When told that the sounds were not boos, Medvedev stood by his view and said it made it difficult to play.
"What I'm saying is, between first and second serve. It's not easy."
Medvedev continued mocking the crowd and claiming that those who were crying out "probably have a low IQ."
"It's understandable, I just want to play with them a little bit," the tennis star laughed as he walked off the court.
