Why David De Gea Manchester United contract has not been agreed amid Real Madrid interest

Manchester United are in talks with David De Gea’s representatives over a contract extension. De Gea’s current deal expires at the end of next season. United are willing to pay De Gea £350,000-a-week, almost double his current £200,000-a-week salary, in order to keep him in the Premier League, however, the 28-year-old wants closer to £500,000-a-week. The salary has proved a stumbling block to an extension being agreed.
