David de Gea has revealed Ralf Rangnick told Manchester United to press higher at half-time on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils celebrated a 2-0 victory against the Seagulls thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.
United looked better in the second and De Gea revealed after the game that interim boss Rangnick told his players in the dressing room at half-time to press higher up the pitch.
"The message [at half-time] was that we are playing at home and we pressed high in the second half," De Gea told BBC Sport.
"We controlled the game after the red card and there was a five minute spell when they came back.
"We should be fighting for more things than the top four, but that is the reality. There are many teams fighting for the same position and with the quality we have we should win a lot of points."
