Dayot Upamecano makes surprise Thierry Henry claim amid Arsenal transfer links

Dayot Upamecano said how he would go about defending against Arsenal legend Thierry Henry amid previous Gunners links. The Bayern Munich centre-back was previously linked with a switch to the Gunners during his RB Leipzig days before sealing a switch to the Allianz Arena at the start of this season. Ahead of Bayern’s return to Champions League action - against Red Bull Salzburg - Upamecano made a five-a-side team of former French internationals. He picked Thierry Henry, alongside Zinedine Zidane and Lilian Thuram. Speaking with UEFA, Upamecano  said:

“I would have tried to stop him from cutting inside because he was very good at that.   “So, yes I would’ve tried to force him onto his left foot, even though his left foot was pretty good, too.   “You’re better off forcing him to use his weaker foot than letting him use his strong one.”
