Journalist Dean Jones has admitted that James Maddison would be integrated straightaway into Newcastle's starting lineup if the clubs secure his transfer this summer.
Eddie Howe seeks to bring more creativity into his squad and getting the England international's signature would be a huge boost for the club.
The Magpies have been in a race to get the midfielder's transfer since the last summer, making two bids for him, however, the Foxes turned down both of those.
Following Newcastle's continued interest, Jones believes "there is a chance" that the 26-year-old would make his move to St. James Park in the summer, especially when Eddie Howe's side are one of the biggest candidates to secure Champions League football next season.
“There is a chance. They’re looking at it. It’s a big call for Maddison, where he goes next.
“I think he likes the ambition that Newcastle show. I think there’s an obvious role in that team for him.
“From what I understand, Eddie Howe would see him playing off the right as a creative outlet.” admitted the journalist while speaking in the latest episode of Chasing Green Arrows.
