Chelsea could have a busy January transfer window as Frank Lampard is being tipped to bolster his squad even further after the club spend £200m during the summer transfer window and the latest name to be linked with a move to Chelsea is Declan Rice.
According to a recent report from
The Athletic, Rice has changed agents and is now represented by his father Sean, who is a Chelsea season ticket holder. The report states that the defender's move to Chelsea is more likely to be in the summer rather than in January.
If Rice ends up joining the Blues, the question is what number will the player wear? The West Ham star currently wears No. 41 for the club and he wore no.5 and no.8 during the most recent international break.
At Chelsea no.5 and 8 belong to Jorginho and Ross Barkley respectively, however, No. 8 is currently free as Barkley is spending the season on loan at Aston Villa and his future hasn't been sorted yet.
However, Declan Rice would have better luck with getting number 41 as it's a squad number that is not usually worn by a first-team player at the Blues.
Ahead of the transfer window,
Football.london have taken a look at other squad numbers that are currently available at Chelsea, which are: No.12, No.25, No.26, No.30, No.32.
No.12 is available temporarily as it belongs to Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is currently on loan at Fulham.
