Dembele’s agent issues transfer update amid Arsenal rumours

Ousmane Dembele has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer. Talks over his potential move have emerged almost since his transfer to Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. The forward was left out of the squad for Barcelona’s game against Real Betis at the weekend by coach Ernesto Valverde after he missed training on Thursday and didn’t report his absence to the club until later in the day. And reports claimed that his move from Barcelona is closer than ever. But the former Dortmund star’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, has now spoken to RMC Sport and insisted his client will not be going anywhere in January. Sissoko said: “There is no doubt about his future, at all, Ousmane continues to work, he is in a big club and Valverde loves him, and he is also in the national team and Deschamps continues to trust him. “If he is with France today it is because he deserves it, I also spoke with Eric Abidal and he told me that he is very happy with him, that he is training very well.” Speaking about the controversy that Dembele’s recent actions have caused, Sissoko insisted that the player has done nothing wrong, “It is true that Ousmane was sick [before the Real Betis game]. He had not slept all night, he was very tired. “He missed the morning training and what the club has blamed us is that he did not warn a little before that a doctor can see his mismanagement at home. “He did it a little late. But he was sick, the club confirmed he had a [gastrointestinal illness], he missed the training because of that. And I am surprised that we also make controversy when he is sick,” the agent confirmed.
