Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has hailed Frank Lampard. Drogba's ex-team-mate could become the next manager of Chelsea after Maurizio Sarri left the job and moved to Juventus.
When speaking to talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams ahead of Soccer Aid 2019, Drogba hailed Lampard’s efforts as Derby boss in what was his first season in management.
On Lampard and John Terry’s managerial credentials, Drogba said:
“Those two were part of the spine of the team for more than a decade. They’ve given so much to the game and Chelsea Football Club. When you told me this was the direction he [Lampard] wants to take, I knew he would do great because he’s got all the qualities required. He listens, he’s a winner, he works hard, like John did. They are good guys and hard workers.”
