Ed Woodward gave £50m to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to spend on two new signings

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given a budget of £50m to spend during January transfer window, according to reports. Solskjaer arrived in England and will take charge of his first training session on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash against his former club Cardiff City. Mourinho was sacked after United’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool which left Red Devils 19 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side and 11 points off fourth-placed Chelsea. Mourniho clashed with United’s vice chairman Ed Woodward over the club’s transfer policy in the summer but now Woodward is keen on bringing new names and handed the new interim coach a great amount of money for January signings. It’s also reported that United are prioritising the signing of a new right-sided midfielder with Douglas Costa shortlisted as a potential target.
