Edouard Mendy has claimed that Kepa Arrizabalaga "did a fantastic job" when he was on international duty.
Arrizabalaga replaced Mendy when Chelsea's number one goalkeeper was playing for Senegal national team at the African Cup of Nations.
Mendy has won the AFCON trophy and is now back to the Blues squad, which means Arrizabalaga's playing time could be limited again.
Chelsea are set to face Palmeiras in the Club World Cup on Saturday, with Mendy possibly playing as a starter. Ahead of the game, he has sent a message to the Spanish keeper.
"He [Kepa] did a fantastic job when I was at AFCON, even before. We all know how good he is and this is why you play for Chelsea. You are the best player in every position," Mendy said (via
