Fabrizio Romano confirm key Arsenal star's future remains secure amid transfer rumors

Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the situation concerning Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Writing in his column for CaughtOffside, the Italian transfer expert firmly believes that the England international is still a part of Mikel Arteta's plans at the Emirates Stadium, despite recent transfer rumors linking him to Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

The insider addressed the transfer speculations surrounding the 25-year-old and appeared skeptical about their validity.

Notably, Ramsdale was surprisingly omitted from the starting lineup for the Gunners' recent match against Everton, with summer signing David Raya impressively keeping a clean sheet on his debut.

The Spaniard, who is currently on loan from Brentford, has been performing well, leading to discussions about his potential long-term role as the team's number-one goalkeeper under Arteta.

However, Romano emphasized that the current plan is for Ramsdale and Raya to engage in healthy competition, vying for the position of the first-choice goalkeeper in the manager's starting lineup throughout this season.

“Aaron Ramsdale – There’s been some speculation about Aaron Ramsdale being monitored by Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but I’m not aware of concrete talks at this stage.

“Bayern signed Peretz, Chelsea signed two goalkeepers this summer… for January, the situation is just absolutely quiet. The plan is for Ramsdale to compete with David Raya – he’s not out of the Arsenal project.”
