Arsenal had no intention of selling Gabriel Magalhaes during the summer transfer window, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Although the Brazilian center-back was linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League, there was no concrete interest, and negotiations did not occur between Arsenal and any other club.
Even if a Saudi club had offered €200 million, the Gunners were not willing to part ways with Gabriel, underscoring how highly they value him. Real Madrid also expressed interest in acquiring the former Lille star, as they were seeking reinforcements at center-back following a long-term injury to Eder Militao at the start of the new season.
Gabriel was not included in the starting lineup for the first three games of the 2023-24 Premier League season but returned to the starting XI against Manchester United in the last match.
In the previous season, the 25-year-old had started in every league game and only missed three matches in the 2021-22 season. His absence from the lineup against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Fulham had raised questions and garnered attention.
