Mateo Kovacic has reacted to the latest talks linking his Croatian teammate Josko Gvardiol to a potential move to Manchester City this summer.
The midfielder has recently joined the Citizens from Chelsea on a four-year deal for an initial £25m transfer fee. Following his move, City have eyed his fellow countryman Gvardiol, who shined for his national side during the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Amid the recent transfer talks, Kovacic was asked about his thoughts on Gvardiol and his possible transfer to Etihad, to which the 29-year-old responded:
“He’s already played a lot of big games. He is ready for this step. I think it’s a good time [to join Man City]."
"They are on a great run, a very confident team and a team you can learn from. They have possibly the best manager in history…" he added.
