Nottingham Forest have reportedly submitted a formal proposal to acquire Nuno Tavares from Arsenal on a permanent deal.
Tavares initially joined the Gunners in 2021 and participated in 28 matches during his only season in Mikel Arteta's first-team squad. His performance was somewhat mixed during this time.
The 23-year-old missed out on the Premier League 2022/23 season, as he was on loan at Ligue A side Marseille. Although Tavares displayed some potential, especially in offensive plays, he didn't make a significant impact.
Given the Portuguese player's situation, a move to Nottingham Forest could be fitting. Ongoing discussions suggest that there's a possibility he might follow in the footsteps of Matt Turner by transitioning from Emirates Stadium to Nottingham City.
Considering his desire for regular playtime, Tavares is likely inclined to leave Arsenal. Joining Forest could provide him with the opportunity to fulfill that goal. However, Jurrien Timber's recent injury, which is now expected to keep him sidelined for some months, might influence the young player's spot in Arteta's squad.
