Rio Ferdinand has predicted the Premier League top four for the upcoming 2023/24 Premier League season.
The season kicks off with defending champions Manchester City facing Burnley, led by Vincent Kompany. The Premier League is poised for another captivating season, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool bolstering their squads in preparation.
However, Ferdinand remains skeptical about these teams wresting the title from Manchester City, as he foresees Pep Guardiola's squad clinching a remarkable fourth consecutive championship.
The former Manchester United defender does anticipate Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool securing the top four positions. In the previous season, Manchester United and Arsenal clinched top-four spots, while Liverpool settled for fifth.
"Manchester United and Arsenal, two challengers. If anyone’s going to get close to them [Man City], it’ll be those two," Ferdinand said, via Eurosport.
"They’ll go close this season but as for City, I don’t think anyone is going to pip them to the title."
The pundit added: "I still think there’s a difference between Manchester United and Manchester City: on the pitch and off the pitch. But I think Manchester United are going in the right direction. I think you can see how they have approached the transfer window, it’s been very decisive and forthright."
