According to Sky Sport's Dharmesh Sheth, the Gunners continue to hold interest the defender although there is a gap between City’s valuation and what they are prepared to pay in early negotiations between the clubs.

Cancelo's current number at City is 7, while at Bayern he wore number 22. Number 7 at the Gunners is currently unavailable as Bukayo Saka is donning it. Meanwhile, number 22, currently belongs to Pablo Mari, who spent the previous season on loan at Monza. If Mari departs from Arsenal, Cancelo could take that number.
Other numbers that could become available are 3, 17, 24, 23, 26.
