Jacob Ramsey is hopeful of making an appearance in England under-21s' UEFA Championship qualifying games against Slovenia and Andorra this week.
The youngsters' team manager Lee Carsley says there's "a lot more to come" from Jacob after his impressive start to the season at Aston Villa.
The 20-year-old has started the last 4 games for Villa, showing impressive performances against Everton and Manchester United.
"I've worked with Jacob before," Carsley told BirminghamLive .
"I had him in the 20s squad with me so he's a player I've been aware of for a while, as I have been with Aaron (Ramsey) his brother as well.
"I like Jacob a lot. I think he's got some outstanding attributes. There's a lot more to come from him in terms of his ability, adding goals and assists to his game.
"I really like his mentality. He's really strong-minded and I've watched him a lot for Villa this season. I've enjoyed the journey and the pathway he's been on."
The England under-21 chief is looking forward to work with the midfielder as he's expected to take part on Thursday's clash against Slovenia.
