Gareth Southgate will ring the changes for England’s friendly against Switzerland, insisting his job is to promote the long-term health of the national side rather than protect his own record.
Southgate is ready to make serious alterations in a bid to offer the much-needed game to those who need it and preserve others who have been denied a post-Russia break.
The first 25 seconds of the game will be broadcast in black and white to honour the 25
th anniversary of football’s anti-discrimination charity Kick it out.
