Fabrizio Romano anticipates Chelsea's upcoming improved bid for PRIMARY target

Chelsea will have to spend a significant amount of money if they want to sign Moises Caicedo, as stated by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist has discussed the ongoing transfer situation involving the Ecuadorian, who is a key player for Brighton.

As per the transfer insider, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on him, but the Blues have been unable to agree on a transfer fee with Albion.

Despite prolonged negotiations, Chelsea's latest offer of £80 million was insufficient to meet the Seagull's valuation, which is believed to be at least £100 million.

Romano anticipates that the London giants will make an improved offer soon, as they know Roberto De Zerbi's board won't easily part with one of their best players.

“Being out of Brighton’s squad for their most recent pre-season friendly is already an important message from Moises Caicedo,” Romano wrote in his exclusive Substack column.

“He wants to leave and he wants the move to Chelsea. We will see where we go from this point. But for sure, Caicedo wants to move, Chelsea know that Brighton won’t accept £80 million even if the midfielder is acting in a strong way, so it is now up to Chelsea – a new bid is expected.”
