Fabrizio Romano reveals the player Manchester United offered to Atlanta

Manchester United have offered Fred to Atalanta as part of the bid for Rasmus Hojlund, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, writing in his CaughtOffSide exclusive.

“Atalanta won’t be easy to negotiate with, as they want €65-70m ftor Hojlund and have already rejected the possibility of signing United players as part of the deal," wrote the Italian.

Erik ten Hag's side are currently getting ready to submit their initial offer for Rasmus Hojlund. Despite discussions about potentially including Fred in the transfer, the Serie A side have declined the suggestion, as they are not interested in bolstering that specific area of their squad.

The personal terms between Manchester United and the Atalanta striker have already been fully agreed upon, leaving only the negotiation with the player's club as the remaining hurdle to overcome. The latter prefer to receive cash payment rather than including players in the deal.

The Danish forward is a highly promising young talent who appears to be an excellent fit for Manchester United at the moment. The team currently faces a void in their squad for a genuine central striker after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last season.
