Ian Wright has criticized Jorginho for his performance against Tottenham in the North London Derby, claiming he had lost concentration or "fallen asleep."
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal couldn't secure a victory against Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham on Sunday. Although Spurs rightfully earned a point in their Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium, a significant mistake by Jorginho in the second half played a pivotal role.
Shortly after Bukayo Saka converted a penalty to make it 2-1 in Arsenal's favor, the Italian midfielder made a costly error that allowed Tottenham to equalize at 2-2.
Jorginho made an ill-advised decision to get clever with the ball at his feet when there was no real pressure. James Maddison from Tottenham managed to steal the ball from the Italian star, leading to a goal by Son Heung-min.
Ian Wright was far from pleased with this lapse in Jorginho's performance as he shared his thoughts on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One.
“He has got so many options, and he kind of falls asleep on that," the Arsenal legend said, via HITC.
