Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Walker: How Manchester City stars reacted to Super League decision behind private meetings

It has been crazy few days for the football people and fans all around the globe. A few days ago a controversial Super League was announced and just yesterday all the Premier League teams confirmed their withdrawal. The most controversial decision in the football world was made without asking fans or the players about their opinions. According to The Athletic, some Manchester City players have showcased their frustration over the breakaway league during private Zoom meetings. The displeasure of the squad is believed to have played a big part in City's decision to pull out of the ESL on Tuesday. Captain Fernandinho is said to have been the most vocal critic of the club's decision to join the Super League, while Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne also voiced opinions. A source close to the squad says the players were united in their opposition. Also on Monday players were told not to discuss anything regarding the ESL, even privately, with City initially bullish/insistent they could ride out public backlash. However, the players made their displeasure known during a Zoom call with Soriano. Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
