However, as well as forwards, there are also top goalkeepers playing in the league. We will introduce five goalkeepers, who are currently playing in the Premier League with overall numbers of their clean-sheets. As you may found it surprising but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is yet to earn his place in the list of five goalkeepers with the most PL clean-sheets.
Ederson- Manchester City
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson opens the list. The Brazilian has 67 clean-sheets in his 136 Premier League appearances. He joined Man City in the 2017-18 season and played in the PL only for Pep Guardiola's side. Moreover, the 27-year-old is leading the list of goalkeeper for his number of clean-sheets in the current season. He has not conceded a goal in 15 of his 27 league games.
Lukasz Fabianski - West Ham
Fabianski is well known for Premier League fans. The player has featured for three PL clubs- Arsenal, Swansea City and currently West Ham. The Polish goalkeeper has 72 clean sheets in 269 Premier League appearances. He has 9 clean-sheets for Arsenal in 25 games, 39 for Swansea City in 149 matches and 22 for West Ham in 88 appearances. Fabianski currently has 9 clean-sheets in 25 games.
Kasper Schmeichel - Leicester City
Leicester City's experienced goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is yet to reach the century of Premier League clean-sheets, but he is close to the milestone. Peter Schmeichel's son has 73 clean-sheets in 237 games. He featured for Manchester City and Leicester City. For the Citizens, he has kept 4 clean sheets in eight games between 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons. While for the Foxes, he has 69 clean-sheets. He hasn't conceded a goal in nine of his 28 Premier League games so far.
Hugo Lloris-Tottenham
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has come under huge criticism for his recent performances. TV pundits even urged Jose Mourinho to sign a replacement for the World Cup Winner. However, in the past week, Lloris has reached the number of 100 Premier League clean-sheets and he has now 101 in 287 games. Indeed, only nine clean sheets of his big number have been recorded in the current season (27 games).
David de Gea- Manchester United
From the current list of Premier League goalkeepers, David de Gea has the most number of clean-sheets. The Spaniard has kept 122 clean sheets in his 337 Premier League appearances for Manchester United. But as well as Lloris, De Gea also experienced a difficult season. Reports even suggested that the 2020/21 season could be his last at Old Trafford. De Gea, who enjoyed his time with his newborn baby, has managed to keep 9 clean sheets in 24 games this season.
