Leicester City are in rush for Celtic centre-back
Kristoffer Ajer amid AC Milan interest according to Football Italia.
Ajer was a promising teenager, formerly playing under Brendan Rodgers, who later was appointed as the Foxes manager. The Norwegian was a key player in Rodger's Celtic squad.
The defender's agent Tore Pedersen has claimed:
"He will not be renewing his contract with Celtic, which means he will be leaving Glasgow this summer." It may arise the possibility of seeing the player and the Foxes boss reunited at King Power Stadium.
There have been comparisons between Ajer and Virgil Van Dijk, with the 22-year old having all chances to reach the Liverpool defender's quality.
Rodgers himself, talking about the young centre-back,
told the Daily Record the summer before he left Celtic:
"Kris has made some big steps. He’s only 20 but he’s really dominant. You think now that when everything comes through the middle of the pitch - he’s going to get his head on it. He’s a natural leader as a young guy and is improving all the time.
Kris came from Norway where he played as a No.10, scoring goals. Now he’s progressing as a centre-half. He must be able to defend, first and foremost. But if you can build up play as well then you can be critical for the team and how we play. He’s got a lot of strength and is a quick learner. He’s a bright boy who takes information on very quickly."
