Former Manchester United player Clayton Blackmore has confirmed that Paul Pogba will not leave the club this month nor for ‘a few years yet’.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been the subject of much transfer rumors ever since last summer, and he remains wanted by Juventus and Real Madrid at the start of this January window.
Pogba has missed five Premier League starts this season due to an ankle issue and is now in line for another month-long lay-off.
Blackmore, who spent 12 years at Old Trafford, told Thursday’s Sports Breakfast:
“With the injury and having an operation, I don’t think anybody is going to sign him right away, so I can’t see him moving anywhere. He is still a top player,. A lot of people have a go at him but he is one of those players who strolls around the pitch and can affect the game; we probably needed him yesterday.
“For me, he will definitely be a United player at the end of the season. If he is still there after that I don’t know, but it would surprise me if he does leave. I think he is going to be there for a few years yet.”
