Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should focus on getting four players of the Old Trafford wage bill if he is set to strengthen his squad. Solskjaer is expected to target a centre-back in January’s transfer window. United could ease their concerns by selling some first-team outcasts, saving themselves £300,000 per week. Sergio Romero is not involved at all though is still taking home wages of £70,000 per week, while the same can be said of £75,000 per week earner Phil Jones. Jesse Lingard earns the same as Jones with Everton, Newcastle, West Ham and Leicester having all been previously linked. Marcos Rojo, meanwhile, is yet to feature in the United first team this season, though is still taking home wages of £80,000 every week. The Old Trafford coffers would also be boosted by any transfer fee received for those players. One star that is guaranteed to leave Manchester next month is Odion Ighalo, who will return to Shanghai Shenhua following his loan spell.
