Frank Lampard is considering turning Ruben Loftus-Cheek into a frontman when he returns from injury.
The English midfielder ruptured an Achilles during a friendly against New England Revolution back in May. The injury caused him to miss the Europa League final against Arsenal. The 23-year-old was unable to take part in pre-season under Lampard, but he handed the player a new five-year deal worth £150,000 a week in July.
Loftus-Cheek is set to return to training within four or six weeks. And when he does make his comeback, Lampard is aiming to move him further forward from his usual midfield position.
According to
the Sun, the 23-year-old will be utilised as a striker with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Pedro flanking him on either side.
