Chelsea were looking for their eighth successive win with a Carabao Cup game at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United.
However, the Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat.
Following the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave an injury update on N’Golo Kante.
Kante suffered an injury during an international break with his France National Team.
“He's going to hopefully join training in the next two or three days,” said Lampard.
“Hopefully. He's important, he's a top player. I would have liked to give Jorginho in particular and Kovacic a rest tonight as well because of what they have been putting in, the endurance of the season, but I couldn't because of N'Golo, Ross and Ruben out long-term. He's on the road but a fair way away. We couldn't make those changes I would have wanted to today but it is what it is.”
