Frank Lampard has revealed that only Mason Mount can provide an accurate answer regarding whether he has played his final game for Chelsea.
The 24-year-old midfielder has just one year left in his contract, while there are still no positive talks over his potential new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly eager to find a resolution for Mount amid the huge transfer interest from top Premier League clubs. Arsenal and Liverpool are closely monitoring Mount's situation. Furthermore, there were reports of Manchester United preparing a £55 million bid for the English international.
The injury will keep Mount out of the upcoming match against the Red Devils and the final game of the season against Newcastle United. Consequently, there are suggestions that this absence could signify his last appearance for the club.
Amid the recent talks regarding the player's doubtful future at Chelsea, Lampard was asked whether Mount has already played his last game for the Blues.
"It's not my answer to make, it's between Mason and the club," the interim head coach replied during the pre-match press conference, via Football London.
