Chelsea have been handed another injury set-back. Reece James withdrew from international duty. The right-back had linked up with the England U21s ahead of their matches with Kosovo and Austria. The 20-year-old suffered an injury in training and has been pulled out of the squad. Chelsea take on Brighton & Hove Albion on September 14 in their opening Premier League game of the campaign, and Frank Lampard's pre-season plans have not been ideal. The first team were back in training last week, however, several players have not been available due to COVID-19 self-isolation and injuries. Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori are just a few who have not been at Cobham for the early sessions They were also not available for Chelsea's first pre-season game, with the Blues drawing 1-1 with at Brighton.
