Frank Lampard suffers blow as Chelsea assistant coach agrees to leave the club

Frank Lampard’s assistant Eddie Newton is set to join Trabzonspor in coming days having agreed on personal terms with the Turkish Superlig side, according to local reports. The 48-year-old rejoined Chelsea's first-team staff in the summer when Frank Lampard returned to the club as head coach. Newton played for Chelsea between 1992 and 1999 and made 214 first-team appearances. Having spent the previous three years working with the club's loan players in his role as a technical coach, Newton returned to the first-team set up when Lampard returned to the club.
