Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has apologized after punching a dugout and pushing a VAR monitor in frustration following his red card in Brazil’s Copa America final triumph over Peru.
Jesus scored just before half-time to secure Brazil’s lead against Peru, however, he picked up a second yellow card 20 minutes from time for a needless late foul on Carlos Zambrano.
He then protested his innocence and was refusing to leave the pitch.
He punched the side of the dugout in anger and attempted to push the VAR monitor. But after having chance to calm down, the 22-year-old said: "I want to apologise," said Jesus. "I could have avoided it and I also need to grow up a lot."
Brazil National Team won Copa America trophy for the ninth time in the history of tournament as the Samba Boys beat Peru with the score 3-1.
