Gary Neville has questioned what Manchester United saw in Fred as they spent £50m to bring him to Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Fred was among the substitutes as United drew 1-1 at home to Arsenal. He came on in the second half and become Neville’s disappointment.
Commentating on the game on Sky Sports, Neville said: "
I’ve not seen anything in the 12 months that he’s been here to justify the price tag.
"He had a good game at PSG away. But I don’t see a goalscorer, I don’t see a defensive midfielder, I don’t see a runner. And for £60million you’d think he would fit into one of those categories."
The 26-year-old has now made five appearances this season; however, two of those have been in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
