Gary Neville sends Liverpool title warning to Man City

Gary Neville has warned Manchester City that title rivals Liverpool are still in the race for the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's side have climbed to the top of the table after a run of 12 matches unbeaten, including nine victories. While, After a bad run of form at the start of 2021, Liverpool have won back-to-back matches in the league against Tottenham and West Ham. Therefore, Neville has warned City that they could put together a similar run of form. “We talk about Liverpool’s performance at Tottenham almost being a catalyst for change, we were at that City performance at Chelsea, you remember that week there were a lot of questions being asked of Man City," Neville told Sky Sports. "They had the Covid cases, they had the game called off, they had a difficult run and then they went and put on one of the most exceptional displays of football for half an hour and then they went to play at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup semi-final on the Tuesday or Wednesday and performed really well. "They’ve just gone like that (upwards) and that’s where Liverpool could be if they beat Brighton, with three victories going into the game against Man City. "They could start to have the feeling of confidence coming back and we could have a brilliant game next Sunday. Manchester City at this moment in time look fantastic, but it’s a strange season and it takes just one obstacle and all of a sudden, you have one blip and you can drop points. City will be aware of that, they don’t look like they’re going to do it at the moment, but it’s a season whereby we’ve seen it going a little bit up and down.”
