Gerard Pique reveals how they are handling Liverpool defeat after several weeks
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique says some of his teammates have been affected by Roma defeat back in 2018 when playing against Liverpool in the second leg of Champions League semi-finals at Anfield Road. 32-year-old player has been involved in his team’s massive defeat in England, when Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice each to seal one of the best comebacks in the history of Champions League. Pique says it was hard for them to get up emotionally, and surely, the defeat at Anfield was one of the greatest ones in the history of the club, but they should go on and prepare for the next matches. He labelled that day as a ‘nightmare’ and insists some people in the squad have been mentally affected after the defeat from Roma a year ago, in Champions League quarterfinals. Former Spain national team star also mentions the factor of Anfield as a key to success of Liverpool, but adds that they should not concentrate on that day and they should move on and not torture themselves.Liverpool will face Tottenham in UCL final. Barcelona could complete a domestic double in case they beat Valencia in Copa Del Rey final.
