Gianluigi Buffon may finish career at the end of the season

Serie A club goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has decided to end his career, some reports claim. The forty-year-old goalkeeper wants to make room for the younger generation and he therefore does not extend his expiring contract. However, Juventus has not yet confirmed this. Buffon is likely to play an inter-country game for Italy, but after this season he seems to stop. Buffon has so far kept 645 matches for Juventus and won numerous prizes: eight country titles, five Coppa Italia’s, six Supercoppas, the UEFA Cup, the title in the B Series and Buffon became world champion with his country in 2006.
