The shortlist of 5 finalists for Golden Boy award has been revealed.

Last year's winner, Kylian Mbappe, was being viewed as the favorite to win it this year, too. But the French youngster didn't make the cut. Mbappe is being favored as Ballon d'Or finalist alongside with Luka Modric and national teammate Raphael Varane as rumors emerged that the 3 World Cup finalists will be in the top 3 of the Ballon d'Or. From the top 5, Matthijs de Ligt was at the center of attention, as the Ajax youngster has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Liverpool.
