Louie Barry has revealed he is fighting for playing in the first team squad of Aston Villa this season.
The former West Brom academy graduate was one of five January signings from Barcelona.
Barry has made an impressive start, already scoring for the U23s in Cardiff.
However, the player has admitted he wants to go further and to be given a Premier League chance.
He said:
"I played for the under 23s against Cardiff and scored the winner. I am fighting for the first team. What I want to do first at Villa is play really well and go up the ranks. My main ambition is to be in the first team by the end of the season. Dean Smith was excited for me to come in. I have spoken to all of the first team players."
As Keinan Davis is suffering an injury and could miss Monday night's U23 game, fans are predicting the teenager could be given the chance sooner rather than later.
They have commented on social media.
