"Great player": Steven Gerrard claims Southampton star 'have mastered' his game

Steven Gerrard has spoken about James Ward-Prowse claiming that he's a 'great player'. Aston Villa are set to host Southampton in the Premier League, on Saturday, March 5th. Ahead of the clash, Gerrard has heaped praise on the Saints' star in his pre-match press conference. The Villa boss believes Ward-Prowse 'has obviously mastered' his game even better.

“He’s a great player and has obviously took this set-piece side of his game and really mastered it,” the Liverpool legend smiles.   “For me, I always saw it as more of a bonus and concerned myself with my all-round game.   "But I also had to be behind some set-piece specialists in my younger days so that’s why I’ve probably not mastered it myself!”
