Guardiola awaits congratulatory call from ten Hag on Premier League success

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag reveals that he is yet to call Guardiola following Manchester City's Premier League victory.

The Dutch manager admitted that he hadn't called his Italian colleague and said that he will do that eventually. He added, "I think in the first moment, I take the opportunity to congratulate him for winning the title but also the way in winning the title is a demonstration of football, everyone likes the way they play, so attractive, so brilliant."

There are speculations that the Citizens' victory is tainted because the Premier League leveled 115 financial charges against them back in February. The club manager has denied the charges and demanded a verdict as soon as possible. Ten Hag retreated from making any comments on this situation not at the given time or at any other.

"That is not about me to make a judgement," stressed the Dutchman via the Manchester Evening. "It is an investigation, so let them do their work and we will find out."

England's prestigious title race had primarily been contested by these two teams, with Arsenal holding the lead for a remarkable 248 days. However, Arsenal's form dwindled towards the end of the season, and City's 4-1 victory over their title rivals at the Etihad Stadium significantly tilted the balance in their favor.

This season, Manchester City is paving their path to a historic treble, with 1/3 of it already secured with the Premier League trophy. If Guardiola's side succeeds in winning the all-Manchester FA Cup on June 3 and then the Champions League title against Italian giants Inter Milan a week later, they will repeat Manchester United's treble triumph from 1999.
