Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his preference for his squad to earn the title themselves rather than relying on Arsenal losing to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Spanish coach has called on his team to secure the Premier League title this weekend, emphasizing their desire to complete a historic Treble. However, he cautioned his players about the potential threat posed by Chelsea, who had previously delayed City's celebrations in a match at the Etihad Stadium two years ago.
"Every game we win helps for the next one. Winning the league as quick as possible helps us prepare the next games, the FA Cup and Champions league finals, in better condition," said the 52-year-old via Daily Mail UK.
Although there are no celebrations planned yet, Guardiola acknowledged that City cannot control the outcome of the Nottingham Forest match, urging his team to concentrate on their own responsibilities.
Chelsea are set to travel to Etihad Stadium to face the Premier League table leaders at home on May 20. On the same day, City rival Arsenal is going to travel to the City Stadium for a decisive match with Nottingham Forest.
