Cesc Fabregas has expressed his admiration for Declan Rice's contributions to Arsenal, highlighting his impressive passing game in the final third.
Despite the high expectations and pressure that came with his club-record transfer from West Ham United, Rice has lived up to the hype and played a role in Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
Fabregas, who understands the demands of being a key figure at Arsenal, believes that Rice's passing abilities have notably improved. While the player was already known for his ability to carry the ball, disrupt opponents, and provide defensive stability, there were concerns about his passing due to the different playing styles of Mikel Arteta and David Moyes.
However, according to Fabregas, Rice has excelled in this aspect as well, as he told Premier League Productions, via HITC.
“Rice’s physicality allows him to cover so much of the pitch that I think sometimes, as a lone number six, you lose a big part of his capabilities, especially physically.”
Fabregas added: “He has grown with the ball. I think he is capable of giving final balls now. Even to go to the edge of the area like Rodri. We have seen him a couple of times, edge of the box, Champions League finals and scored the goals. Rice has that talent as well.”
